Anaesthesia is a highly specialized branch in medical field. It deals with Operative Anaesthesia, perioperative medicine Critical Care and Pain Medicine. Our department at IMCH is running 11 state of the art major Operation Theatres, catering for all surgical specialities including General Surgery including laproscopic surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Oro- Facio-Maxillary, Plastic Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Urology, Gynaecological and Obstetrical surgery. All our OTs are well equipped with advanced gadgets, we also provide NORA [non operative room anaesthesia services] including MRI SUITE
We have post anaesthesia care unit (PACU) with ventilators with 10 beds providing postoperative care. We run our anaesthesia OPD clinic for pre-anaesthetic check-up on all working days. We also run fully functional pain clinic providing pain relief to patients suffering from chronic intractable pain. Besides that we are committed to give 24×7 acute pain services to all post-operative patients including painless labour facility for normal deliveries (labor analgesia).
Our department is having full faculty strength and a competent team of technical and nursing staff to provide best anaesthesia services and patient care to operative patients. Besides this we maintain our academic level by doing regular seminars, group discussions, case based discussions, case presentations, guest lectures, research activities in the institution.
